What we collect

Information you send us

When you use the enquiry form, we collect:

• Your name and company
• Your email address, and a phone number if you choose to give one
• Your country or region
• The stage your project is at
• Anything you write in the optional notes box

We also record that you ticked the box confirming you had read this policy. If you email us directly instead, we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message.

What you write in the notes box

The notes box is optional and open, so please keep it to your product and your project. Don’t include anything sensitive there — health information, for example — or personal details about identifiable people other than yourself. We don’t need it, and we’d rather not hold it. If information like that does reach us, we handle it in confidence and delete it on the same schedule as the rest of your enquiry.

Information collected automatically

To keep the enquiry form free of automated spam, Cloudflare receives your IP address and basic information about your browser when you load the enquiry page and when you submit it. Cloudflare also keeps short-term technical logs of requests to this site, which include IP addresses. None of this is used to identify you or to build any profile of you, and we don’t combine it with your enquiry.

Why we collect it

We use your information only to respond to your enquiry, assess whether we’re a suitable manufacturer for your product, and contact you about it — including arranging a scoping call. We do not use your details for marketing, and we won’t add you to a mailing list without your separate consent.

Legal basis (GDPR): Article 6(1)(b) — the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract. Where an enquiry does not proceed and we keep a record of it, we rely on Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in keeping a record of business enquiries we have responded to. For the spam protection on the form, we rely on Article 6(1)(f) as well — our legitimate interest in keeping the form usable and our systems secure.

The box you tick before sending confirms you have read this policy. It is not the legal basis for our use of your information — the bases above are.

Giving us this information is entirely up to you. There is no obligation to send an enquiry, but we can’t respond to one without at least a name, a company and a way to reply.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are received and held as email — the website itself keeps no database of submissions. We retain enquiry emails for 24 months, after which they are deleted.

If your enquiry leads to us working together, the correspondence becomes part of our record of that business relationship, and we keep it for as long as Irish company and tax law requires us to keep business records.

Our providers keep their own technical and delivery logs for short periods — around 30 days — which is separate from our retention of your enquiry and outside our control.

Who has access

Your enquiry is read and handled by Four Acre Foods management. We use the following providers to run this website and deliver email:

• Cloudflare — hosts this website, routes the enquiry form, and provides the Turnstile check that keeps the form free of automated spam. See their privacy notice.
• Resend — delivers your enquiry to us and sends you the confirmation email. See their privacy notice.
• Microsoft — hosts the mailbox your enquiry is delivered to and stored in. See their privacy notice.

These providers act as our processors for the enquiry data they handle on our behalf. Some of them also determine their own purposes for limited technical data generated by running their services — Cloudflare does so for the security signals behind the spam check, for example. Where that applies, their own privacy notices above explain what they do with it.

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. Beyond the providers listed above, we share your enquiry only where the law requires us to, or with our professional advisers where we need their help.

Transfers outside the EEA: these providers are US-headquartered and operate global infrastructure, so your enquiry may be processed outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, and on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it. Email us at queries@fouracrefoods.ie and we will tell you which safeguard applies to which provider and how to obtain a copy.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we use no analytics platform of any kind. That is why you are not asked to accept or decline anything.

The only thing that may be stored on your device comes from Cloudflare, which hosts this site and provides the Turnstile spam check on the enquiry form. Its sole purpose is security — telling a real visitor apart from an automated one. It carries no advertising or profiling data and is not used to track you across other websites.

Under the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011, storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for does not require your consent, so there is nothing here for you to accept or decline.

How we protect your information

This site is served over an encrypted connection, and it stores no enquiry data itself — your enquiry exists only as email. Access to the mailbox it arrives in is limited to Four Acre Foods management. Our providers are established services with their own security programmes. No system is completely secure, and we don’t claim otherwise.

What you tell us about your product and your project is commercially sensitive, and we treat it that way. We do not disclose enquirers, their products or their formulations to anyone outside the business.

Your rights

Under data protection law you can ask us to:

• Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correct anything that is inaccurate
• Delete your data
• Restrict how we use it
• Provide it to you in a portable format

You also have the right to object. Where we keep a record of an enquiry on the basis of our legitimate interests, you can object at any time and we will stop and delete the record — unless we have compelling grounds to keep it, for example because it relates to a legal claim. If that applies, we will tell you why.

To exercise any of these, email queries@fouracrefoods.ie. There is no charge. We will respond within one month, and we may ask you to confirm your identity first so that we don’t disclose your information to someone else.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963 — dataprotection.ie.

If you are in the UK: UK data protection law may also apply to your enquiry. Your rights are the same as those set out above, and you can raise a complaint either with the Data Protection Commission or with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version and its date are always shown at the top of this page. We will not apply a materially different use of your information to enquiries we have already received.
